I absolutely love this mare with a passion! She is our resident delinquent and we wouldnt have it any other way. It is hard to describe TJ but one thing I can say is you have to really love "a horse with alot of heart" to appreciate this mare. Out of all the Clayboy babies we have seen, owned and worked with, TJ is by far one of the most challenging & the MOST REWARDING. But what you put into her is exactly what you get in return, multiplied by 100! She requires patience, stamina, and alot of try and she gives all of that back and more. There is not enough room in her page to capture her qualities so I have shared a couple videos to demonstrate her beauty and heart. In the first video, you will notice that this mare LOVES TO LEAVE ALL THE OTHERS 'IN THE DUST'! TJ is our number one tie down and heeling prospect. She is gentle on the ground, stands tied, easy to trim and shoe, and loves to be groomed.
TJ has a crack on her front right hoof, and while it doesnt affect her peformance or make her sore, she still requires shoes until the remainder of the crack grows out. Her back teeth grew in sharp, so she also needs to be floated once every two years. Other than that, you wont find a mare who is more hardy than this one! She hasnt had a sick day in her life, and is an easy keeper (but doesnt get over weight either)... shes just perfect.
TJ likes to be dealt with in a respectful manner, she doesnt like to be pushed too hard in an area she is not used to, if you introduce something to her, she has a genuine willingness to learn, but responds best when she is given time to adjust. If you practise patience with her, she tries to do her best by you.
