Clayboy's 2008 Book is full!

Clayboy is our foundation Quarter Horse with color.  He was born and raised in New Mexico.  Clayboy was a successful competitor in the roping arena and was trained and finished by renowned ropers.  Prior to standing as a successful Halter sire, Clayboy was mainly bred to mares with running and working cow bloodlines.  We are bringing him back to his origins and he will now once again offer his amazing disposition, confirmation and athleticism for babies that can excell in the rodeo arena.  Clayboy shares one main similarity with his famous grandsire, Sonny Dee Bar.... in that his offspring are extremely versatile, which is why they are such popular saddle horses!

We promote Clayboy because he is built correct, has a beautiful temperament and his color is the added bonus. Most importantly, however, we believe in our stallion because he is so VERSATILE in producing excellent offspring that can compete in so many different disciplines. Clayboy babies are also known for their trainability and gentle easy to handle natures; they are horses the entire family can enjoy! Clayboy has sired barrel racing and team roping champions, futurity winners and point earners in Halter, English and Western Pleasure and HUS. He has also sired an APHA Champion, and successful competitors in Dressage!

Clayboy crosses exceptionally well with race bred mares and in many cases, he throws his quiet disposition, trainability and confirmation ~ he has strong bone and excellent feet.

Clayboy is undisputably a Quarter Horse - his geneology is rich with legendary Quarter Horse history with many greats such as: Sonny Dee Bar, Win or Lose, Mr. Bar None, Three Bars, Leo, Midnight Jr., Peter McCue, Pretty Buck, Bright Bar, Question Mark, King, Mame Taylor, Plaudette, Maddon's Bright Eyes, Plaudit, and Old Fred.  We believe that Clayboy's crop out Overo pattern stems from that fact that he traces to Old Fred at least 10 times.  Old Fred is known for prodcing crop outs and Maddon's Bright Eyes is one of his famous granddaughters.  Clayboy is now registered with AQHA under the new rules; and will therefore now be double registered with APHA/AQHA.

Clayboy has the "Medicine Hat" markings that are considered by Plains Tribes as being sacred on a horse ~ the black cap around his ears and the black shield on his chest are believed to offer protection.  Historically, only the most notable leaders rode "Medicine Hats."  Many of Clayboy's offspring carry similar markings.  In historical times, Native Americans used to ride Medicine Hats into war, as they were considered to offer protection.

New Video! We are celebrating Clayboy's 20th Birthday this year! In the video, he is being ridden in Ocala, Florida (English) and Team Roping in Casa Grande, Arizona...

Clayboy also has the old Quarter Horse "bull dog" type confirmation.   He is simply built for performance.   He has amazing legs, straight shoulder, short cannon, strong bone and hooves, he is long in the underbelly, deep in the chest and big in the hip.  Because of his confirmation, Clayboy possesses the speed and power to excell in roping.  His color, pedigree, disposition, and speed are the added bonus that makes him so special.

We converted a small video of Clayboy roping in Arizona, its abit rough but shows how easy he is to handle.

We posted a small clip of Clayboy in August, 2006 ~ at 18 years he is still beautiful!

To view his video, you will need AppleQuicktime.  For dial up internet, it may take a few moments to load.  We will be posting more videos so keep checking his page for updates.

We are now providing a list of all older Clayboy offspring who may be eligible for AQHA registration - if your horse is on this list, and you are interested in having them registered with AQHA, you can email us for further information on how to proceed with the paperwork. Please note that AQHA requires all dams 1987 and younger to have DNA type on file - if your horse's dam does not have DNA type on file you will need to locate the mare and have a DNA sample taken.
